As a Mould Maker, you are responsible for the repair, improvement, and maintenance of plastic injection moulds. Your main function is to support production by completing work within the demands of the regular production schedule. Perform regular scheduled PM’s on tooling. Machine close tolerance components and fits components. Fully understands the principles and construction of plastic injection moulds and is able to do in press repairs.

 

Duties Include:

  • Performs preventive maintenance on plastic injection moulds and hot runner manifolds

  • Fabricate mould inserts, mould components, fixture and tooling

  • Fits and assembles parts and tests completed moulds for proper operation.

  • Support production team members to ensure proper quality output and safe operations.

  • Complies with all safety requirements and instructions.

  • Verifies conformance of repaired injection moulds and tooling

  • Operates crane to remove and/or relocate moulds to specific workstations/areas.

  • Completes computer data entry as necessary.

  • Maintains a neat work area

  • Team player

 

Qualifications:

  • Licensed Mould Maker(431A).

  • Must be able to operate all common tool room machinery in a safe and productive manner.

  • Previous injection moulding experience is an asset.

  • Strong attention to detail.

  • Knowledge of CAD/CAM systems.

  • Must possess good problem solving skills.

  • TIG welding experience is considered an asset.

  • Experience working with Injection Moulding asset.

 This position will support a two-shift operation of Days and Afternoons on a biweekly rotation.
