POSITION: Manager, Therapies and Professional Practice
                         Alliance-Wide
                         Full-Time Position

POSITION SUMMARY: The Manager Therapies and Professional Practice provides overall management of the therapy staff* and influences and advances a culture of professional inquiry and reflective practice and standards consistent with health professional regulatory bodies. In collaboration with the leadership team, the Manager Therapies and Professional Practice develops, implements and evaluates the strategic direction of inter-professional practice and education and provides professional practice leadership to the clinical programs. Through leadership of the Inter-Professional Practice Council, the Manager Therapies and Professional Practice facilitates processes to implement and sustain best practice standards within a patient-centred, inter-professional collaborative care environment. The Manager Therapies and Professional Practice will collaborate with the Manager Patient Experience and Nursing Practice to support the sustainability of the Inter-professional Practice Model.
*Adult Occupational Therapy, Pastoral Care, Physiotherapy, Social Work, Speech Language Pathology, Rehabilitation Assistants, Hand Therapy Program

REPORTS TO: Director, Quality and Risk

DATE REQUIRED: As Soon As Possible

QUALIFICATIONS: - Degree in a health related field
- Master’s Degree in a health related field preferred
- Member of a regulated health profession.

EXPERIENCE: - Minimum five years clinical experience in a health related discipline
- Progressive leadership experience
- Experience in a unionized hospital environment an asset

ABILITIES: - Demonstrated knowledge of best practices with respect to clinical services and professional
practice
- Demonstrated leadership in the integration of clinical practice guidelines and evidence based
practice and safe, quality patient care
- Demonstrated ability to manage effectively in an inter-professional collaborative environment.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Demonstrated proficiency in coaching, mentoring, team development, conflict resolution,
consultation and interpersonal relationships
- Strong presentation, teaching and group facilitation skills
- Computer literate
- High level of initiative and self-direction
- Evidence of continued professional growth and/or professional development
- Experience in a LEAN environment with associated LEAN healthcare education
- Demonstrated leadership, strategic planning and administrative abilities
- Demonstrated ability to plan, organize and complete projects as identified
- Able to effectively and efficiently provide business oriented planning and forecasting
- Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, coach and develop employees during times of change
- Ability to research and implement leading practice, evidence based decision making and
quality based programming in order to meet and exceed industry benchmarks and
performance metrics
