Project Manager / Technical Advisor

We are the leading worldwide supplier of steam generators used in Power, Cogeneration, and Enhanced Oil Recovery applications.


Reporting to the Service Manager, the Technical Advisor is responsible for providing project control and project management support to Service projects ensuring the proper use of processes and procedures. In addition, secondary responsibilities are to provide project team support on new equipment installations, commissioning activities and on-site service work as required.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as point of contact for communications between the Client, Service Department and other stakeholders
  • Generate budget quotes and proposal documents for customer approval using costing templates
  • Generate Repair Requisitions as required to initiate materials orders in house from Manufacturing / Engineering
  • Prepare Purchase Requisitions as required to secure material, contractors or other external support and materials for job execution
  • Coordinate firm price review, pre and post deployment meetings with Service Team and Company Management (as required) to review scope of work, scheduling and any considerations for successful execution of service work
  • Develop and maintain sound execution plans for on-site service work
  • Produce ASME documents and quality packages as required for review by customer and local inspecting authorities
  • Ensure order fulfillment per QA and engineering requirements
  • Coordinate purchase specifications and subcontract documents
  • Assist in the procurement and delivery of purchased engineered equipment and services required for each project
  • Ensure the maintenance of project status/WIP reports in terms of percent complete, cost to date and ECAC
  • Forecast and track change orders and scope changes, updating projects accordingly
  • Reconcile all approved timesheets, expense reports, contractor/rental invoices, shipping invoices and other job related expenses
  • Coordinate service reports and customer report packages
  • Coordinate and expedite shipments
  • Encourage “Safety First” culture in all aspects and locations
  • Perform equipment inspections and programming troubleshooting at customer sites.

 

Qualifications:

  • University Degree or College Diploma in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering / Technology
  • Registered, or eligible for registration, with PEO or OACETT
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite
  • Demonstrated aptitude in project management. PMP certification is an asset
  • Flexible and able to meet objectives while working in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities and strict deadlines
  • Superior interpersonal, verbal & written communication skills
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational, time management, and planning skills
  • Proven fiscal responsibility related to managing and maintaining budgets
  • Ability to obtain travel internationally and obtain visitor/work visas as necessary
