We are seeking a Human Resource Manager to lead HR practices and objectives that will provide and maintain an employee-oriented, high performance culture that emphasizes empowerment, quality, productivity and goal attainment in a fun, team-oriented work environment.
This position is responsible for the development of processes and metrics that support the achievement of our business goals.

This job is located in St. Paul, AB
If the candidate does not reside within 1 hr travel time within 1 hr commute from St. Pail, AB relocation would be necessary

Responsibilities and Duties
The Human Resources Manager guides and manages the overall provision of Human Resource services, policies and programs for our company. The major areas the Human Resource Manager will be responsible for will include, but are not limited to:

  • Maintains up to date job requirements and job descriptions for all positions.
  • Maintains employee benefits programs and informs employees of benefits by studying and assessing benefit needs and trends; recommending benefit programs to management; directing the processing of benefit claims; obtaining and evaluating benefit contract bids; awarding benefit contracts; designing and conducting educational programs on benefit programs.
  • Overseeing recruitment efforts for all personnel, including writing and placing job ads
  • Development and management of performance management & improvement systems
  • Take a lead in organizational department planning
  • Maintain compliance with regulatory concerns for employees regarding local, provincial and federal laws.
  • Employee onboarding
  • Manage talent development initiatives, needs assessment and training
  • Policy development and documentation
  • Employee relations
  • Manage company and employee communication
  • Employee health, safety and wellness (Joint Health and Safety Committee)
  • Community relations through liaison with community organizations.

Qualifications and Skills

We are looking for the following:

  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Human Resource Management, Business, equivalencies will be considered.
  • A minimum of 5 years of progressive leadership experience in Human Resources positions.
  • Knowledge and experience in employment law, compensation, organizational planning, recruitment, safety, employee relations and employee development.
  • Excellent written and spoken communication skills are a must.
  • Outstanding interpersonal relationship building and employee coaching skills.
  • Excellent computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment. Must include knowledge of Sage HRMS, Microsoft Office: Excel, Word and Outlook.
  • Experience in the administration of benefits and compensation programs.
  • Strong recruiting & interviewing skills.
