Job Description


CARQUEST Canada is seeking a dynamic, results-driven Financial Analyst – Inventory Accounting. Reporting to the Director of Finance, the Analyst is responsible for providing management with accurate, timely reports and analytical support. We are seeking a high performing individual who will succeed in a fast-paced environment where he/she will support multiple projects while interacting with various disciplines of the organization.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Support Director of Finance with post close account analysis, specific focus on multi-unit Inventory related transactions, inventory reserves and various other Balance sheet accounts, including communication with centralized accounting staff/preparers.
•Provide valuable analysis and guidance of process and accounting treatment to various cross-functional teams, including supply chain, finance operations and project teams.
•Preparation of monthly and quarterly inventory reporting packages for senior management, including variance analysis against budget, forecast and prior year.
•Document workflows and procedures and assist in improving processes and communication flow.
•Develop, enhance and maintain various dashboards – shared with Sr Managers
•Support finance team with various daily/weekly/periodic reporting – Excel spreadsheets, BI, use of Oracle extracts
•In-depth analysis and reconciliation of inventory transactions across multiple systems.
•Assist in periodic forecasting and annual budget planning process.
•Support other functions as required – sales, operations, real estate.

WORK EXPERIENCE:
•Previous experience within an accounting/finance department within a private or publicly held corporation.
•Experience with inventory accounting transactions and inventory reserve analysis.

•Requires a high level of perseverance and attention to detail, able to use solid judgment to establish accuracy and reasonableness of available information
•General knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
•Organizational and problem solving skills.
•Experience using financial and related systems (Hyperion, BI, Oracle)
•Exceptional MS Office skills with proven ability to create complex Excel models utilizing macros, indexing, arrays, pivots, lookups.
•Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to communicate with a variety of contacts, including ability to constructively articulate viewpoint.
•Excellent analytical, problem solving and decision making skills.
•Effectively prioritize multiple demands; adjust to change quickly and work constructively under tight deadlines.
•Self-starter who works well independently and in a team environment.
•Has strong working knowledge of various areas of profit and loss, and balance sheet.
