What you will do:
The Team Lead, Installer coordinates their team’s activities and monitors that all operational work and tasks for their assigned project are completed in a safe, effective, and efficient manner. Assigned project scope may include installing modular and off-modular commercial office furnishings, movable walls, window coverings, and/or box moves while following all company procedures and safety guidelines. Additional responsibilities may include driving, loading, and/or offloading of trucks. The incumbent provides mentorship and training to employees assigned to their project. The Team Lead role is a hands-on role and is required to be able to perform any of the required product installations identified within the project scope. When monitoring quality and productivity expectations of the team, also monitors that the work area is maintained in a clean and effective manner at all times. As the Lead Company Representative on site, acts as the on-site Company Representative and liaisons with the client representative(s) as required to manage and ensure all Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and business objectives for the assigned project are achieved.

 As the successful candidate for this position, you will bring your:

  • Grade 12 High School Diploma;
  • 3 to 6 years prior experience working in the commercial furnishing, moveable walls, and/or window-coverings industry(s);
  • Prior experience working in a fast-paced operations and/or manufacturing environment;
  • Demonstrated effective leadership, coaching, and mentoring skills and aptitude.
  • Experience working with small hand tools;
  • Strong customer service attitude and commitment to providing exceptional customer service and quality results
  • Effective communication skills to verbally communicate, understand, comprehend, and comply with all job requirements and communicate with client representatives
  • Effective interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively as part of a team as well as independently with minimal supervision;
  • Demonstrated effective problem-solving, decision making and proactive, positive “Yes I Can” attitude;
  • Effective time management and planning/organizing skills;
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality in all personnel and sensitive matters to comply with regulatory requirements and company privacy and confidentiality policies and procedures;
  • Demonstrated ability to follow instructions with excellent attention to detail to meet safety, productivity, and quality standards;
  • Demonstrated positive approach to continuous improvement opportunities and activities;
  • Ability and willingness to work days, evenings, weekends, and overtime;
  • Ability to safety lift and carry up to 50 pounds and physically bend and move to perform all job functions;
  • Procures, maintains, and has readily available an inventory of personal tools as per company contractual agreement;
  • Ability to provide a clean criminal record check and/or pass a drug and alcohol post-offer test to meet client requirements as required;
  • Ability and willingness to operate a company vehicle, and have/maintain a clean and valid driver’s license, either Class 5 or Class 3 (preferred);
  • Experience working with medium-to-large motorized tools is an asset.
