Job Description:

Well- established Manufacturing company based in the Brampton area who provides co-packing to both the food and confectionery industry. We are currently seeking a Human Resources Generalist who will be able to build strong relationships with management and employees and provide a high level of service when providing advice and guidance on HR strategies and issues.

Job Requirements

  • Responsible for the full cycle of recruitment, from job ad placements, interviewing and offers of employment.
  • Conducts new hire orientation to all newly hired employees.
  • Process weekly payroll accurately for all hourly and salary employees.
  • Work alongside and provide guidance to department managers in regards to employee relations, performance management and conflict management.
  • Provides assistance, facilitates and guidance in conducting counseling sessions for employees who have demonstrated behaviors not aligned with the company’s corporate values.
  • Responsible for applying and enforcing legislation's as per the Employment Standards Act, 2000.
  • Manage, update and coordinate all training requirements.
  • Ensure vacation tracking is up to date and accurate.
  • Update and maintain job descriptions.
  • Ensure that health and safety standards are in place.
  • Joint Health and Safety Committee (JHSC) member. Owns JHSC administrative support, participate in the monthly inspection, and oversee Corrective/Preventive actions that result from the JHSC inspections.
  • Manage all WSIB, disability claims and early return to work program
  • Adhere to the policies and guidelines set out in our Employee Handbook.
  • Responsible for compliance with GMP guidelines, ensuring that all GMPs and SOPs are followed.
  • Provide backup relief for the Office Administrator.

Required Education, Skills and Qualifications

  • Certificate/Degree in Human Resources Management.
  • 2-4 years Human Resource Generalist experience.
  • Superior written and verbal communications skills.
  • Strong understanding of employment law.
  • Extensive working knowledge of employee relations principles, practices, and procedures.
  • A professional and commercial approach to HR, with the ability to deliver high employee satisfaction.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several variables.
  • Skilled in recognizing and offering alternative solutions.
  • Good interpersonal skills with the ability to build partnerships and work with all levels of employees and management.
  • Ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
  • Self-motivated, task-oriented and able to self-direct daily activity.
  • Proficiency with Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Outlook.
