As a Groups/Air Only Coordinator, you will join a combined role between two departments:Wholesale Air and Groups department. Utilizing air contract and routing expertise, the air only coordinator will advise clients on both group and FIT air options depending on the request, make bookings and manage files from initial quote proposal to ticket issuance with the ultimate goal to generate satisfied/repeat customer base and maximize profits.

Working in Toronto, or @home in Canada or the U.S. using Goway’s sales system and technology, you would support and service customer enquiries provided by Goway.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Provide precise routing and airfare quote options to both travel agents and travel planners
  2. Use learned and proven sales techniques to qualify leads and convert quotes to bookings
  3. Communicate with airlines as necessary to ensure booking/quote is confirmed as per quote
  4. To ensure all quotes are properly entered into in-house system (Travelbox), with all notes advising rules of ticketing deadline, changes and cancelation penalties.
  5. To ensure all Queues (GDS and Internal TBX) are checked and cleared daily. (ex. Schedule changes, cancelled flights, HX segments, and various GDS segment updates)
  6. To ensure all PNR’s & TBX files have been properly remarked with action or information notes, every time you speak with a client or travel agent.
  7. All leads, quotes and bookings are followed up with a phone call.
  8. All Agents are asked at time of booking for: seats, meals, rewards, and frequency miles numbers.
  9. Error’s on fares in either GDS or TBX are immediately reported to your Team lead or Report Manager
  10. You are properly logged into your phone for your entire shift time (ex. Available status is set)
  11. All calls are handled professionally using appropriate business etiquette the up most professional care.
  12. All requests are acknowledged on same day and actioned immediately.
  13. All Credit card payments and check payments are verified to ensure details are correct before issuing.
  14. All booking (fares) are verified before accepting payments.
  15. You are required to work 10-6 shift Monday-Friday
  16. Expected to attend onsite and offsite training seminars.
  17. Cooperate closely with in-house Sales Support staff to ensure invoicing, ticketing procedures handled efficiently within set deadlines
  18. Work as part of an integrated team based in Vancouver and Toronto receiving ongoing direction, support and leadership

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: 

  • 3-5 years of direct air, GDS and contract experience
  • Understand how to fare construct using net, published, and private fares within GAW, GDS, and TBX
  • A strong working knowledge of Amadeus and how to action queue’s within GDS
  • Previous experience using a call centre phone system.
  • Strong knowledge of airline routings and world geography
  • Strong sales and closing abilities with attention to detail
  • Superior customer service skills (Internal and External)
  • Ability to multitask juggling files, deadlines etc
  • Ability to work in a team setting
