Registered Nurse (RN) - Operating Room Lead

Kanata, ON

We are currently seeking a Team Leader for our Operating Room/Recovery Room. The successful applicant will be responsible for: supporting continuous learning and professional development through mentorship and coaching.

Working closely with the Manager, the Team Lead will assist in policy development, process improvement and advocate for positive change.

Requirements

  • Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario as a Registered Nurse in good standing.
  • 3+ years of recent full time experience working in an OR with a variety of surgeries.
  • Perioperative program certificate, completed.
  • Current ACLS (required).
  • Previous experience in leadership (preferred).
  • 5+ years’ experience in Perioperative nursing (preferred).
  • BScN (preferred).
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with knowledge of the principles of adult education.
  • Communicates effectively with patients/families, employees, physicians, peers and external contacts.
  • Effective as a team player through collaboration, cooperation, and respect within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Excellent critical thinking, organizational, problem solving and decision making.
