NOTICE OF VACANCY
POSITION: Registered Nurse or Bachelor Social Work
Listowel Mental Health Outpatient Services
Regular Part-Time
REPORTS TO: Manager, Outpatient Mental Health
DATE REQUIRED: As soon as possible
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor degree in social work from an approved school of social work
- Current registered member in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario or the Ontario College of Social Workers
- Certification in Mental Health Nursing preferred.
- Minimum 5 years recent clinical mental health experience.
- Recent experience in an out-patient mental health program an asset.
- Current basic CPR.
ABILITIES:
- Prevention and Management of Aggressive Behaviour
- De-escalation techniques and ability to support patient care during Code White situations, including application of patient care restraints
- Completion of mental health rating scales
- Able to lead in the development and facilitation of group therapy programming specific to mental health clients.
- Demonstrated skill in specific treatment modalities including psychosocial rehabilitation, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Dialectical Therapy, Crisis Intervention strategies. Must have ability to implement these therapies in individual therapy sessions as well as group therapy sessions.
- Demonstrated ability to work professionally with physicians and psychiatrists, community agencies and interhospital departments.
- Willingness to provide therapies in an Outpatient office setting and in the community
- Mature, flexible and self-directed.
- Well-developed time management and organization skills
- Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively within multidisciplinary team
Well-developed verbal and written communication skills
