POSITION: ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT, St Marys Site
Temporary Full Time Position

POSITION SUMMARY: Under the direction of the Vice President People and Chief Quality Executive, the Administrative Assistant, St. Marys Site, is responsible for providing efficient administrative support to the Vice-President, People and Chief Quality Executive, the St. Marys Medical Site Chief, as well as the Director Quality & Risk and a Director Patient Care and associated managers and Care Team. In addition, the Administrative Assistant acts as a Site Contact/Coordinator for the St. Marys Healthcare Foundation, Local Advisory Committee, and corporate services such as Human Resources, Medical Services, Volunteers, Occupational Health and Safety, Infection Control and Training and Development.

REPORTS TO: Vice-President, People and Chief Quality Executive

DATE REQUIRED: As soon as possible – October 31, 2019

QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
- Graduation from a 3 year University Program in English or Business preferred
- 2-3 year Community College Secretarial/Business program or equivalent
- Additional advanced courses in word-processing, spreadsheet and graphic software packages

Experience:
- At least 5 years recent, related and progressive experience in a demanding, highly computerized, office environment
- At least two years previous experience in an advanced secretarial position
- Previous Meditech experience an asset

Abilities:
- Excellent computer skills: proficient in Word processing, Spreadsheet, and Graphic, time-management and other office management related software packages
- Highly developed ability to organize and prioritize a constantly changing workload.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written skills
- Ability to independently manage projects and conduct research as necessary
- Ability to make a solid commitment to maintaining a confidential environment
- Ability to interact on a professional basis with a variety of internal and external contacts – from Ministry representatives and Healthcare Professionals to Board and Auxiliary members and concerned patients and families
- Sound decision-making skills, demonstrating initiative and good judgement
- Valid Ontario Driver’s License with access to own vehicle. Travel is required throughout Huron-Perth region with occasional travel to major centres.
