Description
Reporting the Manager of Health and Safety, the Safety Officer is responsible for ensuring the established safety systems are followed, and to identify inherent risks associated with the business, assess hazards and implement safety controls to eliminate risk.
The Safety Officer must coordinate site Safety Inspections on job sites and provide corrective action when required. Thorough understanding of H.O.S., load securement, D.O.T. driver and vehicle regulations required. Conduct training for regulatory certification and re-certification at the branches, as needed.
Travel is required to perform essential job duties throughout the designated Region.

- Detailed understanding of current health & safety legislation and its application in a public sector environment
Education & experience
Related experience in health science, environmental management, degree or diploma or equivalent experience. May have Bachelor´s Degree in Safety Management, or any other related subject. May include CRSP / CSP / NEBOSH / designation or diploma in health & safety
Salary
$65K-$75K per year
