DEPARTMENT: Recreation

REPORTS TO: Rental Supervisor

STATUS OF POSITION: Seasonal

Position Summary

The rental technician is responsible for assembling new and used boot/binding systems, estimating and suggesting maintenance and repairs for customer-owned skis and snowboards, and completing tune-ups (Stone Grinding, Edging, waxing). This role will also support the rental counter, and support the rental staff when necessary. The ideal candidate will be mechanically inclined, have strong customer service skills and remain current with product lines, trends and new technology.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Mount Skies and adjust bindings
  • Maintain and repair rental equipment.
  • Test bindings for proper torque release.
  • Document test results and maintenance records.
  • Advise equipment owner of work needed done.
  • Complete the customers requested work on the equipment.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Maintain knowledge of the ski area, programs, events, daily snow conditions and any other information that aids in your communication with our guests
  • Assist with the provisions of rental equipment that is appropriate and safe for every Skier/snowboarder.
  • Ensure rental and tuning areas are well maintained with emphasis on cleanliness and order.
  • Answer customer inquiries about products and services the department offers including;
  • Waxing, sizing, snow conditions and any other general inquiries.
  • Work promptly and courteously at all times.
  • Working in a team setting to provide positive and friendly customer service to all guests.
  • Being punctual and professional with all duties.
  • Acquiring and maintaining detailed knowledge about product information offered.
  • Read, understand, and comply with resort policies and procedures.

 

Qualifications:

  • At least two years’ experience working with ski/SB equipment.
  • 1-2 years’ experience as a ski/snowboard tech preferred
  • Experience working in the ski industry or a related field necessary.
  • POS experience is an asset.
  • Prefer a working knowledge of products and tools of the trade - tuning machines, drills, etc.
  • Salomon binding and din certification (provided to you at training).
  • customer services skills/experience
