- Integrated Stroke (ISU)/Telemetry
Casual with Temporary Part-time
REPORTS TO: Manager, Critical Care, Telemetry/ISU and Cardiorespiratory
DATE REQUIRED: As soon as possible
SALARY: $33.56 to $48.05 per hour
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Current registered member in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario
EXPERIENCE:
- Recent clinical experience (minimum two years) in Cardiac Care and Stroke/Rehabilitation
- Recent/related courses, in-services in Cardiac Care Nursing and Stroke/Rehabilitation Nursing
SKILLS/ABILITIES:
- Ability to plan, organize and problem solve
- Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development
- Ability to work independently and as a team member
- Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
- Ability to engage patient and family partners in patient education related to the
Telemetry/Integrated Stroke setting
- Demonstrated ability to engage patients and families in health teaching promoting
Vascular health
- Working knowledge of Meditech Information System and personal computer applications
REQUIRED SKILLS:
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification
- Recent Basic Cardiac Arrhythmia course or equivalent (current experience)
- Recent 12 lead ECG interpretation course, or equivalent (current experience)
- National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
- Acute Stroke Unit Orientation (eLearning) modules
- Stroke Rehabilitation Unit Orientation (eLearning) modules
PREFFERED SKILLS:
- Alpha FIM certification
- FIM certification
- Swallowing Screening
- Apex Innovations Canadian Hemispheres Stroke Competency certification
