Position Summary

To organize and manage a department that provides efficient operation of snowmaking, a first-class snow grooming program and all resort property maintenance needs.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Manage all snowmaking equipment and operations for creating manufactured snow from water resources
• Recruit and facilitate onboarding of all snowmaking, grooming, trail maintenance, grounds maintenance and snow removal employees
• Lead, train and coach the team on producing quality snow making with the use of snow guns and equipment throughout the mountain
• Lead and coach the team on proper operation and execution of snow grooming operations in the winter and trail and grounds maintenance through the green seasons.
• With the support of the Supervisor, conduct regular maintenance checks on equipment including checking water pipes, fluid levels and volume, temperature controls, etc
• Document and keep logs of any mechanical/safety issues and communicate with the appropriate team members as needed
• Ensure safe operation of all snowmobiles, trucks, ATV’s, mowers, snow removal equipment and other equipment used by staff
• Work evenings, nights and weekends as needed to ensure operational goals are met in sometimes tight operating windows due to weather.
• Safety responsibility and sensibility to maintain a safe environment for yourself, fellow employees and guests
• Responsible for all time and attendance functions for the departments
• Liaise and collaborate with resort leaders and team members to come up with suitable solutions and improvements for operations.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in Ski operations and maintenance
• Previous snowmaking, grooming and heavy equipment experience
• Previous experience leading multiple teams in a fast paced goal orientated environment
