Position Summary

The Shop Mechanic will be responsible for servicing, diagnosing and maintaining Resort equipment. This position requires previous experience working with a wide range of equipment such as: power sports (sleds, ATV’s), small engine, automotive, diesel and heavy equipment.

If you are hired, prior to your start date and as a condition of your employment, you will be required to provide proof that you are fully vaccinated against COVID-19 in accordance with Public Health guidelines or provide proof of a valid medical exemption. 

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform all levels of preventative maintenance services for all company equipment
• Keep equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance and performing needed repairs
• Inspect, diagnose and repair mechanical defects/failures in various equipment
• Maintains a preventive maintenance program within budget on all equipment, and purchases repair parts and replacement supplies
• Keep a complete set of records for equipment and parts inventory purchases, equipment conditions, costs of repairs, and preventive maintenance for all equipment
• Communicate with team members on safe equipment usage and servicing requirements
• Work with Manager on maintaining and ordering of shop parts and resources
• Makes emergency repairs to equipment on hill, and services or supervises servicing of equipment prior to use
• Displays excellent communication/organizational skills and proven ability to work under high pressure.

Qualifications:

• Class A Mechanic License is preferred (310-S)
• 5+ years of experience servicing Snowmobiles, ATV’s, lawn mowers, small engine equipment, heavy equipment
• Experience operating equipment is an asset
• Experience in the safe operation, maintenance, service, and repair of electric, gasoline, and diesel machinery
• Must be able to work in inclement weather
• Must possess a valid driver’s license
• Must be able to carry, lift, push and pull in excess of 50lbs
• Must be able to work evenings, weekends and holidays
