POSITION: Staffing Resource Clerk

DEPARTMENT:  Scheduling Resources

STATUS: Part Time

SALARY: $21.07 - $22.66

 

Reporting to the Manager, Corporate Payroll, Staffing and Scheduling, this position is responsible for working in partnership with Scheduling Clerks and Departmental Managers to fill immediate, short-term and future staffing needs within in a complex multi-union environment. This includes adjusting staff rotations, calling in relief staff while using Kronos Timekeeping to record and fill vacancies, leaves of absences and sick leaves, etc. in accordance with applicable Collective Agreement rules.

 

HOURS:

Required to work days, evenings, full and partial shifts, weekends, and/or statutory holidays with flexibility to accept short notice call-ins. Hours may change from time to time based on the needs of the Hospital.  In addition, the successful candidate must meet the non-availability requirements outlined in the Collective Agreement.

 

SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

  • Minimum education of Ontario Secondary School Diploma or equivalent, however preference will be given to those with a post-secondary diploma/degree in a related field.
  • Minimum of one (1) year previous staffing and/or scheduling experience; preferably in a Healthcare/Hospital setting.
  • Competent in Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel
  • Preference will be given to those who possess experience with utilizing ESP/Kronos Time and Attendance for staffing/scheduling purposes.
  • Formal working knowledge of Collective Agreements and collective agreement interpretation required.
  • Proven ability to work with minimal supervision, utilizing effective organizational skills in an ever-changing environment.
  • Proven ability to provide excellent customer service in all interactions.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with staff, management and union representatives.
  • Ability to work calmly and efficiently in a fast-paced, sometimes stressful environment with many interruptions and changing demands.
  • Acceptable attendance record in accordance with STEGH’s Attendance at Work Program
  • Acceptable performance record that is aligned with STEGH values
