Job Description

We currently have an opportunity for a Water Jet Operator to operate our Flow and OMAX machines. Reporting directly to the Shop Foreman, the successful candidate will be responsible for operating both machines at our facility on Mitchell Island in Richmond, BC.

The shift will be from Monday to Thursday from  12:00 to 22:00 / 12:00 PM to 10:00 PM.

During the training process, the first two weeks of the shift will be from Monday to Friday 07:00 to 15:00 / 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM.

After the first 2 weeks, will move to the regular shift.

 

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Setting up machine per shop order instructions and programming.
  • Optimize the running of parts to best take advantage of the machine's operating time.
  • Loading, cutting, and unloading material on the machines.
  • Ensuring all programmed parts cut meet shop order requirements.
  • Filling out and completing shop order paperwork.
  • Creating material drawings for excess material and inventory tags to be put back into stock.

 

Qualifications

  • Water jet cutting experience (1 year minimum).
  • Great organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team.
  • Forklift experience.
  • Overhead crane experience.
  • Basic ability to use a computer.
