General Labourer

Edmonton, AB

We are currently looking to fill General Labour positions at our Edmonton east facility. Our high-volume wood manufacturing plant manufactures a full range of custom glue-laminated structural wood beams.

We have been a leader in the design, manufacture, and custom fabrication of glued-laminated structural wood systems since 1951. Candidates with experience in wood manufacturing, labor and carpentry will be an asset; we will provide job-specific training on-site. 

Duties Include:

• Using power tools to finish and complete structured wood beams, applying paint, and sealer
• Working with glue lamina to assemble beams of various lengths and shapes
• Operating overhead cranes
• Grading lumber and general work site clean-up duties.
• Specialized training after a probationary period may include: workplace inspections, Joint workplace H&S committee training, and cross training in other departments.

Requirements:

• Able to lift to 50lbs consistently.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
• Ability to work 8hr shifts – 40hrs per week. (Some overtime may be required).
• Standard CSA-approved steel-toed boots are required, we will provide safety glasses, work gloves, and reflective vests.
• Overhead crane certification is mandatory for certain positions (We will provide this training in-house or with third party training).
• WHMIS 2015
• First aid certification is an asset.

Work Schedules: 

• Day shift: Mon-Fri 6 am-2 pm.
• Afternoon: Mon-Fri 2 pm – 12 pm.
• Night shift: Mon-Fri 10 pm – 6 am.
• Overtime may be required dependent on production requirements

Wages:

• Wage will start at $20.00hr. Wages will be evaluated and increased with more training, competency, and progression with the company.
• Afternoon and Night Shift positions will receive a shift premium.
