POSITION: Registered Nurse
Listowel Mental Health Outpatient Services
Full-Time

POSITION SUMMARY: The Community Mental Health Worker will provide assessment, counselling and consultation to clients in the North Perth and surrounding area to individuals who have mental health needs. Staff will provide care in the community, in patients’ homes as well as in an office-based setting.

REPORTS TO: Manager, Outpatient Mental Health

DATE REQUIRED: As soon as possible

SALARY: $32.66 to $46.76 per hour

QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: - Current registered member in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Current Basic CPR Certification
- Certification in Mental Health Nursing from RNAO

Experience: - Minimum of five years inpatient and outpatient clinical mental health experience

Abilities: - Mature, flexible and self-directed
- Well-developed time management and organizational skills
- Able to function cooperatively within multidisciplinary teams
- Well-developed verbal and written communication skills
- Able to support clients in their homes, in a community environment or office based setting
- Well-developed skills in assessment, case management, crisis intervention, medication administration, group counselling, therapy, treatment planning and service coordination for individuals who are experiencing mental health concerns
- Able to support the consumer being at the centre of the mental health system.
- An understanding and appreciation of rural communities
- Knowledge of mental health reform
- Able to work cooperatively with community and professional groups.
- Able to perform responsibilities with minimal supervision
- Experience working with computers
- Auto endorsement insurance for patient transport
