Current Rate of Pay: Min $52.47 - Max $ 65.69

Position Summary:
The Manager, Health Information Management (HIM), Privacy Specialist will oversee the daily operations of the HIM department specific to the release of information, record processing, data quality and the incomplete record area as well as the Switchboard team, in coordination with the Director and CPO, Health Information Management and Decision Support. This role will also be responsible for assisting in the privacy management and education for Guelph General Hospital.

Qualifications, Experience, Skills and Abilities:
- Graduate of a Canadian Health Information Management Association (CHIMA) approved Health Information Management program
- Certified Health Information Management Professional(CHIM) and current member of CHIMA
- Three to five years experience in an acute health care setting specific to Health Information Management
- Demonstrated leadership abilities including excellent critical thinking, problem solving and autonomous decision making
- Experience with conducting or providing oversight for privacy impact assessments
- Effective performance management skills
- Effective communication, conflict resolution and negotiating skills essential
- Proven organizational skills
- Demonstrated leadership qualities with the ability to lead teams
- Demonstrated ability to manage budgets
- Advanced proficiency in MS Office applications
- Expertise in health information management best practices, processes and procedures
- Excellent planning and problem solving skills
- Confident and self-sufficient with presence
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal
- Analytical, innovative and results oriented
- Hard working and embraces change
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a self-directed manner as well as collaboratively within a team in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment
- Demonstrated commitment to excellent customer service when interacting with patients, families, colleagues and physicians
