We are currently seeking a Certified Journeyperson Electrician (309A) to join our growing team.

 

Position Overview

As an Electrician, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting electrical systems in accordance with the Ontario Electrical Code and customer specifications. You will work independently and collaboratively, ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and with the craftsmanship our customers expect.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, schematics, circuit diagrams, and electrical code specifications to determine wiring layouts.
  • Install, examine, replace, or repair electrical wiring, receptacles, switch boxes, fixtures, conduits, and other electrical components.
  • Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair industrial electrical and electronic control systems, equipment, and related devices.
  • Provide diagnostic assessments of malfunctioning systems and implement corrective solutions.
  • Install and maintain control systems, hydraulic/pneumatic electrical controls, and safety circuits (including light curtains and e-stops).
  • Test equipment and components for continuity, current, voltage, and resistance.
  • Lead and train apprentices, demonstrating best practices and promoting safety standards.
  • Independently manage and complete jobs, create and review work orders with customers, and ensure project fulfillment.
  • Conduct service and installations on-site at customer locations; up to 25% travel within Canada.

 

Requirements

  • Journeyperson Electrician certification with valid 309A license.
  • 5+ years of experience in commercial and industrial electrical work.
  • Strong knowledge of the Ontario Electrical Code.
  • Working at Heights certification.
  • Valid First Aid & CPR certification.
  • Current criminal record check.
  • Valid G-class driver’s license with clean driver’s abstract.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
  • Superior communication, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.

 

Desired Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong electrical and mechanical aptitude.
  • Experience with conduit wiring layout and installation.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting repairs and breakdowns quickly and logically.
  • Ability to supervise and mentor apprentices.
  • Basic knowledge of PLC programming.
  • Experience with network configuration, set-up, and commissioning.
  • Familiarity with safety circuits and control systems.
