Position summary

The Talent Acquisition Specialist supports full-cycle recruitment activities across Convoy Supply locations in Canada and USA. Working closely with hiring managers and the HR team, the Talent Acquisition Specialist is responsible for sourcing candidates, coordinating recruitment activities, supporting onboarding processes, and delivering a positive candidate experience. The incumbent contributes to recruitment operations while helping maintain efficient hiring processes and supporting Convoy’s employer brand.

Job requirements

Recruitment Coordination & Sourcing

  • Support full-cycle recruitment activities for a variety of positions across the organization
  • Post job advertisements and maintain accurate job postings across recruitment platforms
  • Source candidates using online job boards, social media platforms, referrals, and internal databases
  • Screen resumes and conduct initial candidate phone interviews
  • Schedule and coordinate interviews with hiring managers and candidates
  • Conduct reference checks, pre-employment checks, and other recruitment-related administration
  • Assist with preparing and presenting employment offers

 

Recruitment Administration & Candidate Experience

  • Maintain and update the applicant tracking system to ensure accurate recruitment records
  • Respond to inquiries from applicants, candidates, and internal team members in a professional and timely manner
  • Support onboarding and orientation activities for new employees
  • Assist with recruitment reporting, tracking, and documentation
  • Ensure recruitment activities are conducted in accordance with company policies and applicable legislation

Employer Branding & Team Collaboration

  • Support social media recruitment initiatives in partnership with HR and Communications
  • Participate in recruitment events, job fairs, student programs, and community outreach activities
  • Contribute ideas to improve recruitment processes and candidate experience
  • Stay informed on current recruitment trends, sourcing tools, and best practices
  • Participate in HR team projects and related initiatives
  • Complete related duties as assigned

 

Qualifications

  • Diploma or degree in Human Resources or related field
  • CPHR designation completed or in progress is an asset
  • 2-4 years of recruitment, talent acquisition, or HR coordination experience
  • Experience within construction, warehouse, trucking, distribution, or industrial environments is an asset
  • Familiarity with ATS platforms, LinkedIn, Indeed, and Microsoft Office
  • Strong communication, organization, and customer service skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and build effective working relationships
  • Ability to occasionally travel to attend various recruitment related events
  • The location for this job is flexible within Canada, and may be established as a work-from-home arrangement, work-from-office, or hybrid home/office as mutually agreed between the incumbent and HR Manager
