ABOUT THE ROLE

Reporting to the Chief of Complex Care, the Hospitalist is accountable to provide medical assessment, diagnosis and treatment for inpatients of the Physical Rehabilitation program.

WHAT YOU BRING

Education/Experience:

  • Licensed to practice medicine with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario
  • Demonstrated experience working within interprofessional practice model
  • Knowledge of applicable acts, regulations, legislation, programs and policies 

Skills/Abilities:

  • Superior ability to communicate effectively and concisely and to provide / explain relevant information in response to inquiries or issues at a level appropriate to the audience
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships or partnerships with a diverse range of individuals
  • Ability to work independently and/or as a contributing member of an interprofessional team to consistently meet program goals and address client needs
  • Ability to develop partnerships and facilitate discussion relating to assessment, treatment, intervention strategies
  • Strong leadership skills including the ability to provide consultation and direction to medical students and residents, physician assistant students, and clinical staff; proven ability to share skills and knowledge with others
  • Proven conflict management abilities and mediation skills
  • Demonstrated regular attendance at work

 

Remuneration for this position is a stipend of $300 per week and fee-for-service. Shared physician coverage could also be considered. The unit is approximately 24 beds at full capacity. The expectation is availability by phone between 8:00am and 5:00pm, with presence on the unit daily and participation in twice weekly rounds.
